Braganza Tiara (Braganca Tiara or Brazilian Tiara) - (Sweden)

Unlike other tiaras in the Swedish collection this one is only used by the Swedish Queens. The only exception was when Queen Louise was a crown princess and wore this tiara to the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1937 in Great Britain. The name of this tiara comes from Empress Amelie of Brazil, who was married to Pedro I, the Duke of Braganza. 

It was created in the eighteenth century by a French craftsman. The design is composed of flowers, leaves, and arabesques. The tiara is made out of diamonds, silver, and gold. In 1820 the design of the tiara was altered by Empress Amelie of Brazil. Empress Amelie then left the tiara to her sister Queen Josephine of Sweden. Since then the tiara has remained in the hands of the Swedish royals.
